The Coronado Islanders defeated the Syracuse Orange Sox by the score of 14-8, with the biggest share of the credit going to left fielder Dan Dunn. Dunn went 4-6 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Islanders on the day. The win puts the Islanders at 26-29, while the Orange Sox drop to 32-23.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Islanders grabbed the lead when Dunn hit his 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple off Ignacio Quezada made it 8-7, Coronado.

"We had some nice at-bats at the right time," said Islanders manager Ed Lenhardt.
