Vargas drives in 3 runs to Power Cyclones Offense
|
The performance of Franklin Vargas proved critical in helping Brooklyn beat Oconto Falls, 7-1. The Cyclones right fielder went 2-2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Picking up the win was Antonio Pimentel. He went 5.2 innings, allowing 1 run on 4 hits. The right--hander struck out 7 and walked 3. Their 39-15 record puts the Cyclones first in the RCL R John Mayberry Division.
Omar Delgado, who is tied for 8th in the RR in triples with 3, aided the Brooklyn cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first. For the game, the shortstop went 1 for 4 with a walk.
Vargas told the Brooklyn News: "I was born for the big stage."
