The Manchester Mooses picked up a win at Moose Head Stadium, knocking off the Thunder Bay Lighting, 10-4. On the mound for Manchester was right-hander Kasey Thompson. He played a key role in the triumph. Thompson, the winner, moves to 5-3. He threw 9 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 9 and giving up 6 walks. The second-place Mooses now have a win-loss record of 28-25.

The Mooses got a big boost from first baseman Juan Martinez who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Lighting hurler Cortez Soto. It was his 34th walk of the season and put Manchester on top, 1-0.

"Pleased with the effort and the win," said Mooses manager Rodney Beam.
