Salinas Leads Commies to 11-6 Win Over Fighting Iguanas
The Caribbean Commies beat the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 11-6, at Castro Field. The win was due in part to third baseman Franklin Salinas, who went 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4. Andy Amaya earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 3 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Yes, it was a win for Caribbean; but their 18-36 record is still nothing to boast about.

Salinas broke a deadlock in the bottom of the eighth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Caribbean up, 7-6.
