The Brooklyn Cyclones overcame a pretty good performance by Rockville shortstop Matt Spotten, beating the Rangers, 6-5, at The Lava Flow. Spotten went 2-3 with 2 doubles and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI. Brooklyn pitcher Luis Cruz got the win. He's now 1-0. Mike Babey was tagged with the loss. Donzel Albertrani closed it out for his 4th save.

Tobias Koeck drew 1 walk in 4 trips to the plate for Brooklyn. The 19-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jose Delgado. It was his 4th RBI of the season.

"I was hoping to make good contact," said Koeck. "I wasn't trying to knock the snot out of it."

The Cyclones win now puts them at 9-10.
