Eagle Rock Loss Diminishes Nowell Performance
Eagle Rock first baseman Jeremy Nowell had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 10-5, to Eureka at Ozark Mountain Stadium. Nowell hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Justin Soule picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 9-3. Eureka has 5 straight wins, Eagle Rock 4 straight losses.

Ed Cormack had a big 2-run home run for the Hornets in the top of the first inning. With Eureka leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he sized up a changeup from Willie Borrero, who is tied for 5th in the RCL with a 7.7 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 18th home run of the season, which put the Hornets on top, 3-0.

"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Eureka manager Juan Montés.
