Though he had a great game, Jairo Soto could not single-handedly produce a win for Syracuse. Rockville won the game, 6-2. Soto was 2 for 4 with a home run. Rockville, at 45-7, is cruising.

It could have been a different outcome for Rockville, had it not been for Alex Valdez, the 19-year old shortstop . Valdez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Rockville up, 2-0.

Valdez told a Rockville Gazette reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
