The Caribbean Commies met little resistance from the Key West Thunder, beating them, 11-3, at Castro Field. Vincent Navarro led the way. He went 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Caribbean. Armando Uranga earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The loss drops the Key West record to a disappointing 6-8.

Keraja Osei helped his team take an early lead with a run-scoring single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-1, Commies.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Osei told the Caribbean Chronicle. "It's as simple as that."
