Oconto Falls Gets 8-6 Road Win
|
Salvador Duarte did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Rosewell Tribbles from being beaten, 8-6, to the Oconto Falls Timbers at Classified Field. Duarte went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The winner in relief was Elias Gomez. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 4-0. Alex Magana earned the save, his 6th, for the Timbers.
Oconto Falls used the timely hitting of Dave Vargas to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Timbers on top, 8-6. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"In this profession, you've got to put the good and the bad behind you quickly," Rosewell skipper Leonel Alba said.
With this game in the books, Oconto Falls is 30-20, Rosewell 35-15.
