Steve DeSimone came out firing strikes and when the game ended, the Key West Thunder hurler had struck out 7, leading Key West past the Montreal Cardinals, 4-0. DeSimone allowed just 6 hits in the ballgame.

"I'm glad that one is in the rearview mirror," said Montreal manager John Blevins.
