The Manchester Mooses withstood a fine game by Rockville designated hitter Alex Avalos at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium, to upend the Rangers, 8-7. Avalos went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Juan Cuellar earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 7 hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-0. Picking up his 8th save was 19-year old right-handed pitcher Vinny Medina.

Christoph Schuler went 2-5 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for Manchester. The 19-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jonathan Carnahan. It was his 18th walk of the season.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Schuler told the Manchester Gazette.

Manchester's record now stands at 25-25, placing them 4th in the RCL R John Mayberry Division.
