Getting a good performance from shortstop Stanley Wilks, the Sylva Miners defeated the Frobisher Bay Caribou, 9-7. Wilks belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Miners. The loss drops Frobisher Bay to 6-5.
The game was all tied up in the top of the ninth, until Wilks delivered big-time for Sylva, stroking a dramatic 2-run home run off Bruce Ray. The game-changing hit put the Miners on top, 9-7.
