The Rangers grabbed a win, 4-3, at Brewbaker Memorial Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Caribbean pitcher Francisco Castillo. Castillo went 5.1 innings and allowed no runs. Rockville reliever Lee Moore picked up the win, while Jesus Landeros took the loss for Caribbean. Caribbean falls to 1-7.

The decisive blow was delivered by Jose Cerda in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a 3-run home run off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Jesus Landeros to win the game for Rockville. The home crowd went nuts.

Caribbean manager Atamas Manas said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
