The Montreal Mounties weathered an outstanding game by Bloomington first baseman Josh Neuner to topple the Blazers, 6-5. Neuner went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Greg Spivey, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 5 runs on 9 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 6. His record now stands at 8-9. Bill Wolfe earned his 25th save, after closing out the game.
In the top of the third, Montreal designated hitter Leil Moorthy had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Moorthy stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 2-0, Montreal. For the game, he went 1-4.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Bloomington manager Scott Andrews.
Montreal is now 54-36, 3½ games up in the Roberto Clemente League International Division.
