Fighting Iguanas Scratch Out 2-1 Win
|
The Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas earned a close win over the Thunder Bay Lighting, thanks in part to Fernando Arriaga. The Boca Raton right-hander, who is tied for 3rd in the RR in quality starts with 5, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Tony Zacarias earned the save, his 7th, for the Fighting Iguanas. The victory puts Boca Raton at 17-28.
Carlos Carlos went 1 for 2 with 2 walks for Boca Raton. The 19-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring walk off Juan Larios. It was his 19th walk of the season.
"Tough loss," said Thunder Bay manager Masamune Fujimoto. "This one will stick in my craw."
