The Normal Nutcrackers defeated the Yuma Varmits, 9-4. Doing his part was second baseman Thimotée Ducrocq, who was 2-2 with a home run, a double, and 3 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The save went to Oscar Lagunas, number 1 for him.

Normal won the game in part because of Danny Sanchez. The right fielder ripped a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Nutcrackers ahead, 5-2. For the game, Sanchez had 2 doubles and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We did a lot of good things tonight," said Normal manager Juan Colo.

The 5th-place Nutcrackers bumped their record to 15-29.
