Hornets Dump Walnut Creek, 5-2, to Win 4th in a Row
The Eureka Hornets got a good effort from starter Harley Lowrie in defeating the Walnut Creek Warriors at The Nest. The final score was 5-2. Eureka reliever Dave Murphy picked up the win, upping his record to 3-2. Bryan Brawner was saddled with the loss. The second-place Hornets now have a record of 49-41.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman John Campbell came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Walnut Creek pitcher Bryan Brawner, he hit a 1-2 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Eureka on top, 3-2.

"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Lowrie.
