Launay Helps Gremlins Defeat Moonshiners, 6-3
|
Behind a fine performance from Mark Launay, the Houghton Gremlins knocked off the Asheville Moonshiners, 6-3. Launay went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Gremlins. Chris Wethington closed out the game, earning his 15th save. The 5th-place Gremlins improved to 37-40.
With Houghton leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Launay hit a fastball from Khalil Haywood for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Gremlins ahead, 4-0.
"I really like what we did out there today," Launay said after the game.
