Cardinals, Muniz Blank Sedona, 24-0
The Sedona Sabercats were almost helpless in their 24-0 loss to the Montreal Cardinals and hurler Melvin Muniz. Muniz kept the Sabercats confused all game, spinning a 5-hit shutout.

"Tip your hat to Muniz," Sedona manager Logan Reid said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night."

The 19-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 11 strikeouts in a strong performance.

"It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Muniz said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way."

This year, Muniz has 2 wins and 2 losses and a 6.63 ERA.
