At The Pyramid, the Cairo Pharaohs and Walnut Creek Warriors were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

The Walnut Creek Warriors beat the Cairo Pharaohs, 7-4, at The Pyramid. The win was due in part to left fielder Matt Saxton, who went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3. Walnut Creek reliever Luke Clark was the winner. His record is now 3-1. The losing pitcher was Gordon Hayes. Darren Rogers collected his 23rd save.

Kevin McArdle came through with a big-time hit for Walnut Creek. The first baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 7-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Saxton told the Walnut Creek Observer. "But we take nothing for granted."

Walnut Creek is first in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division with a record of 52-25.
