Nutcrackers Fall, 10-5, to Rubio, Tribbles
|
The Rosewell Tribbles defeated the Normal Nutcrackers, 10-5, in part because of catcher Josue Rubio. Rubio went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Tribbles. The Tribbles, at 35-6, sit in first place in the TML R Fred McGriff Division.
Freddy Montenegro, who is tied for 10th in the TR in stolen bases with 3, helped out the Rosewell cause in the bottom of the first inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the right fielder went 1-3 with 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Montenegro.
