Brooklyn 3-2 Win Hard-Earned
The Brooklyn Cyclones eked out a 12-inning, 3-2 win versus the Sylva Miners at Pickaxe Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Miguel Garcia. He was terrific. Brooklyn reliever David Salgado picked up the win to move to 1-0. Jordan Alvarado suffered the loss. Sylva falls to 0-2.

Brooklyn won the game in part because of Forrest Backstrom. The second baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Cyclones ahead, 3-2. For the game, Backstrom had 1 double and 1 home run in 6 at-bats.

"Every loss stings," said Sylva manager . "This one is no exception."
