McDonnell Lifts Orange Sox to 15-7 Triumph
The Syracuse Orange Sox used the hitting of second baseman Ben McDonnell to subdue the Thunder Bay Lighting, 15-7. For the game, McDonnell was 4 for 7 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 6. Jonathan Gonzales, who is rated as the 97th best prospect by BNN, was the winner. He's now 5-1. The loser was Hiroaki Horiuchi. Juan Reynoso recorded the save for Syracuse, his 1st of the season.

Santos Arenas had a big 2-run double for the Orange Sox in the bottom of the first inning. With Syracuse leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 19-year old right-handed pitcher Hiroaki Horiuchi and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Orange Sox ahead, 3-0.

"We're in a little funk right now and we've just got to get ourselves out of it," said Thunder Bay manager Masamune Fujimoto.

The Orange Sox now have a record of 30-7 with the win over Thunder Bay.
