Toreros Deal Maple 7-3 Defeat
The Cabo San Lucas Toreros beat the Maple Marauders, 7-3, at Field de Los Layendas. The win was due in part to center fielder Bryan Bircher, who went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Alejandro Aragon came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now stands at 3-1. The Toreros go to 63-98 with the win.

The Toreros got a big at-bat from first baseman Andy Battista. For the game, Battista was 1-4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Cabo San Lucas a 6-3 lead.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Battista told a Cabo San Lucas News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
