Beltran Rips 2 Home Runs in 14-9 Cardinals Triumph
Montreal third baseman Francisco Beltran contributed significantly to his team's 14-9 win over the Coronado Islanders. Beltran, who is tied for 6th in the TR in total bases with 75, went 4 for 5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Cardinals. The win belonged to Arturo Figueroa in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Jose Rivera took the loss for Coronado. The Cardinals, now 22-10, have played well so far.

With Montreal leading 8-6 in the bottom of the fourth, Beltran hit a fastball from Pablo Reyes for a grand slam home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 12-6.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Montreal manager Emmanuel Even.
