Mounties Earn Late Win
Montreal beat San Francisco at Golden Gate Park, eking out a 6-5 win. The triumph was primarily due to right fielder Alan Willer. He was 2 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs. Randy Mowers picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-2. Josh Christie, who is tied for 2nd in the TML in saves with 42, was tagged with the loss. Jim LeMay closed it out for his 3rd save.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Elliott? The 19-year old left fielder Elliott stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put Montreal up, 6-5. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Willer, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The Mounties now have a record of 97-61.
