Both teams had their chances, but the Normal Nutcrackers eventually prevailed.

The inspired effort of Wichita shortstop Antonio Perez was not enough to prevent a loss, 7-6, to the Normal Nutcrackers. Perez was 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. The win takes Normal to 11-21.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Joel Gonzales put Normal in front, 5-3, with a 2-run single. The Nutcrackers went on to win the ballgame.

Afterward, Wichita manager Daniel Carrasco said: "Every team has a bad week."
