Despite a great performance by Cabo San Lucas left fielder Tim Alessio, the Pennsylvania Butterflies defeated the Toreros by the score of 5-4 at The Kaleidoscope. Alessio went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Steve Marasco. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 1-0. Pennsylvania, now 42-45, holds down third place in the Thurman Munson League East Division.

Pennsylvania got a knockout punch from Will Burkhardt. The right fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"What a buzz," said Burkhardt after it was over.
