Syracuse Wins, Marrero drives in 5 runs
Led by 19-year-old Alex Marrero, the Syracuse Orange Sox knocked off the Brooklyn Cyclones, 9-3. Marrero was 2-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Orange Sox. Miguel Merino picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-0. He struck out 9 in 6 innings. Syracuse is now 17-14.

With Syracuse leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Marrero hit a screwball from Teobaldo Ravasco for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Orange Sox ahead, 4-1.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Syracuse manager Abdul Razzaq Kharoti.
