Mavericks Lose By a Run at Huntington Station
The Huntington Station Ramrods used a great performance from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Willie Borrero to beat the El Paso Mavericks, 2-1, at Station Center Yard. The winner was Borrero. He threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The loser was Edwin Serna. The last-place Ramrods sport a record of 28-48.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Ramrods had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when left fielder Dean Hrusovsky hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Edwin Serna and made the score 2-1, Ramrods. Hrusovsky went 1 for 4.

"The old adage is true," said Hrusovsky. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
