Starting pitcher Mario Reza gave the Jacksonville Pilots a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Chicago Eclipse, 3-1, at Arnold Field. The winner was Reza. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Brendan Tucker. Getting the save was Greg Doss, his 35th.
The Pilots got a big at-bat from first baseman Chris Sheppard. For the game, Sheppard was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 26th home run of the season gave Jacksonville a 3-1 lead.
