Rangers Deal Rangers 5-4 Loss
|
Though he had a stellar game, Fernando Doblado could not prevent his team, the Carrollton Rangers, from losing, 5-4, to the Rockville Rangers. Doblado was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. Victor Aguirre, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Angelo Mant, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Jorge Casillas dealt the Rangers a blow in the top of the third. Batting with the bases loaded and Rockville leading 2-1, Casillas hit a 2-0 cutter for a run-scoring single.
"We're all about heart and hustle on this team. That's what wins ballgames," Casillas told the Rockville Citizen.
Carrollton falls to 16-13.
