Joseph Fredericks brought his A-game to help Walnut Creek defeat the Asheville Moonshiners, 3-0. Darren Rogers got the save, his 38th in 40 chances. The first-place Warriors, at 96-58, lead the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division by 2½ games.

Matt Saxton hit a 2-run home run off J.R. Hepner in the bottom of the first, which put the Warriors ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Saxton had 1 double, while going 2 for 3.

"We're in the driver's seat," said Fredericks. "I like our chances."
