Big Day with Bat: Rivera 5-for-5

Today at Royal Athletic Park, Danny Rivera put on an impressive display.
The Victoria Totems left fielder tagged Normal pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but his teammates were unable to capitalize on the spree and lost the game to the Normal Nutcrackers by the score of 9-6.
"The loss takes some of the joy out of it, but I'll take it," Rivera said. "5-for-5 ain't bad in any league."
Despite the terrific performance, the Totems manager was unwilling to offer the left fielder much praise, saying the "whole roster" is held accountable for losses.
"Danny told me 'Coach, I had 5 hits' and I said 'Well that's great, but it looks like we needed one more from you,'" manager Senta Nakano said.
Danny Rivera singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Manny Becerra in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
This year, Rivera is batting .556 with 2 home runs. He has scored 14 runs and driven in 8.
