Easton Slaps 10-8 Loss on Cyclones
|
The Easton Caterpillars had to overcome a fine effort from Brooklyn pitcher Angelo Muniz to win, 10-8, at The Lava Flow. Muniz went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Joel Altreche finished to wrap up his 1st save. The Cyclones, now 15-8, have been pitiful so far.
Easton shortstop Diego Alarcon contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a sinker to center field for a 2-run single. It was his 8th hit of the season and put the Caterpillars ahead, 2-0.
Alarcon said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
