Tonga shortstop Tony Nunez had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Nunez went 4-4 with a triple and 3 singles, even as Portland beat the G.o.D, 6-4. Edwin Serna, the winning pitcher, improved to 11-9. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 9 and walking 3. The Beavers improve their record to 68-83 with the win over Tonga.

The Beavers got a big at-bat from catcher Juan Araque. For the game, Araque was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 15th double of the season gave Portland a 5-4 lead.

"Winning never gets dull," said Araque.
