The Jacksonville Pilots could not turn a fine performance from second baseman Sam Corson into a win. Instead, the Bloomington Blazers prevailed, 5-3. Corson went 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. The save went to Erik McKnight, number 33 for him. The Blazers improved their record to 70-80 by beating Jacksonville.

Bloomington won the game in part because of Lateef Zitouna. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blazers ahead, 5-3. For the game, Zitouna had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"It's always nice to be on the winning side," Zitouna told the Bloomington Chronicle. "But we take nothing for granted."
