Larvae Nip Islanders, 4-3
|
The Stinging Larvae starter Felipe Gomez pitched a strong game against the Coronado Islanders at Barack H. Obama Park, leading the Larvae to victory, 4-3. Pedro Rojas picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Danny Cajigas suffered the loss. With the loss, Coronado sinks to 14-8.
Luis Alvarado came through with a big-time hit for The Stinging. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
After the game, The Stinging manager Jose Correa applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
