Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Dallas Texans and Manhattan Slice.

The Dallas Texans picked up a win at Copps Park, knocking off the Manhattan Slice, 6-4. Starting pitcher Wilfredo Velez was a big reason why. Velez picked up the win for Dallas, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 9-14. Picking up the save was Jared Davidson, his 2nd.

The Texans got a big hit from pinch hitter Justin Beairsto. In the top of the seventh, Beairsto smacked a bases-clearing double off Manhattan pitcher Marco Garcia. It was his 1st double of the season. Suddenly, the Texans were ahead, 4-2.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Beairsto.

The Texans sit in last place in the Roberto Clemente League Mike Brouillette Division with a record of 60-89.
