The Vancouver Pioneers topped the Buffalo Bison, 7-4, in Thurman Munson League action at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. The standout performance belonged to Vancouver pitcher and Kings Mountain, North Carolina, native John Crowther. Willie Arredondo converted his 39th save in 45 tries. Vancouver currently is in 5th place in the Thurman Munson League Billy Martin Division at 68-80.

The Pioneers got a big at-bat from right fielder Ross Dobesh. For the game, Dobesh went 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Vancouver a 3-1 lead.

"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Crowther.
