Slice Curb Moonshiners, 7-2
|
Manhattan Slice starter Tom Clow was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Asheville Moonshiners, 7-2. Manhattan is now 70-77, Asheville 76-71.
Frank Moreno had a big 2-run home run for the Slice in the bottom of the third inning. With Manhattan leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a forkball from J.R. Hepner, who is a three-time All-Star, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 20th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Slice ahead, 3-0.
"Tom had good stuff. When he did get into a compromising count, he made the most of it," said Manhattan manager Giampaolo Marcovicci.
