The Bloomington Blazers had to overcome a big game from Maple first baseman Mike Hughes to leave Magnificent Marauders Mansion with a victory. And they did, winning, 10-7. Hughes slugged 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. Jorge Lagunas picked up the win, improving his season record to 10-5. He struck out 4 in 5 innings. Jason Phillips notched his 40th save in 46 chances.

Alex Sanchez had a big bases-clearing double for the Blazers in the top of the fourth inning. With Bloomington leading 5-3 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Mike Stewart, who finished 5th in the TML in ERA with 3.06 in 2052, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 23rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blazers ahead, 8-3.

Sanchez told the Bloomington Herald: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
