The Montreal Mounties thumped the Bloomington Blazers, 8-1, at Arson Arena. Jared Jones was a big reason his team got the win. Jones went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. The first-place Mounties are now 97-48, the Blazers 65-80.

Montreal used a well-timed hit by Mark Edwards to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Mounties ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Jones told the Montreal Daily News.
