Eclipse Take Down Mavericks, 5-1
The Chicago Eclipse picked up a win at The Corral, taking down the El Paso Mavericks, 5-1, in 10 innings. On the mound for Chicago was left-hander Alberto Calderon. He played a central role in the triumph. The winner was Joe Umlah in relief. His record improves to 10-2. Eric Reichel took the loss. With the win, the Eclipse improved to 79-64.

Chicago used a timely hit from Mike Winn to get the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Eclipse ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Alberto pounded the strike zone and made good pitches when he needed to," said Chicago manager Demetrio Recchia.
