The Frobisher Bay Caribou defeated the Boca Raton Fighting Iguanas, 12-7, at Pittodrie Stadium. Frobisher Bay catcher Luis Castillo had a superb performance. He was 1-3 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 6 RBI and scoring once. The win was credited to 18-year old right-handed pitcher Sergio Diaz in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Bernardo Palma took the loss. Frobisher Bay, at 12-3, is off to a blistering start.

Castillo broke a deadlock in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run, putting Frobisher Bay up, 8-7.

"You look inside of the game, it's just quality approach after quality approach," said Caribou manager Lao Lo.
