Bye, Bison Too Much for Beach Bums
The Buffalo Bison beat the Traverse City Beach Bums by a score of 7-6. Buffalo third baseman Josh Bye deserved the lion's share of the credit. Bye was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Bison. Jorge Torres snagged the win in relief. He goes to 12-8 on the season. Vince Tyler suffered the loss. Mike Waldrup got credit for the save for Buffalo. It was his 17th of the year.

Bye had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the seventh, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Bison went on to win.

"If we play well, we'll win our share of games," said Bye. "The only team that can beat us is us."

The Bison lead the Thurman Munson League Tim Ervin Division by 6½ games.
