Jazz Get 8-5 Win Versus Seattle
|
Montreal and Seattle duked it out and the Jazz came out victorious.
The Montreal Jazz dumped the Seattle Sasquatch, 8-5, in large part due to catcher George Patten. On the day, Patten went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Jazz. The winner was Roberto Vallejos, who threw 101 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 2 runs on 2 hits.
With Montreal leading 3-2 in the top of the seventh, Patten hit a sinker from Thor Odinson for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Jazz ahead, 5-2.
"No one player deserves all the credit when you win," Patten said. "And the same is true when you lose."
The defeat makes Seattle 76-66.
