Aguilar Slugs Mooses to 8-5 Win
With right fielder Edwin Aguilar leading the charge, the Manchester Mooses defeated the Caribbean Commies, 8-5, at Castro Field. Aguilar, who is tied for 6th in the RR in extra base hits with 8, went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He scored 3 times and drove in 5. David Robles got the win, improving to 2-1. He held the Commies to 1 run on 3 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 6 and walking 8. Roberto Rodriguez picked up the save for Manchester, his 1st of the year.

With Manchester leading 5-0 in the top of the eighth, Aguilar came up to bat against Caribbean pitcher Carmem Verdasca. Aguilar hit a fastball to right-center for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season put the Mooses on top, 8-0.

"Whenever I help the team," said Aguilar, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."

Manchester has a mark of 7-7 after the win.
