Montreal had no answer for former first round draft pick Carlos Avila. The Hawaii Honu starter stymied Mounties hitters, helping the Honu cruise to victory, 6-1. The Honu go to 79-62, putting them second in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division.

Aaron Gross hit a 2-run double off Eddie Galloza in the bottom of the fourth, which put the Honu in front, 2-0. In addition to the double, Gross had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 3.

"I'm happy we won," said Avila. "That's first and foremost. My goal is for the team to win the day I pitch, however it's done."
