Paradise Island Beats Montreal, 5-3
|
The Montreal Cardinals got a sterling performance from pitcher Pablo Cisneros, but the Paradise Island Pirates still prevailed, 5-3. Cisneros threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Paradise Island reliever Jose Gonzales picked up the win to move to 1-0. Danny Ramirez suffered the loss. Tim Fleming earned save number 3 this season.
Gerardo Castillo came through with a big-time hit for Paradise Island. The catcher smacked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"We were the better team," crowed Castillo.
The Cardinals drop to 4-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2066 season.
