Eclipse Slap 8-5 Loss on Butterflies
|
Chicago center fielder Israel Cardenas was a significant contributor in his team's 8-5 triumph over the Pennsylvania Butterflies. He was 1-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Eclipse. Quentin Campbell earned the win to go to 2-0. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. Oscar Zegarra earned the save, his 14th, for the Eclipse.
In the top of the fifth, Timothy McAlear delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 1st and 2nd, the Chicago catcher hit a run-scoring single, putting the Eclipse in front, 8-5.
"I keep on showing up every day and trying to put up good at-bats and find good pitches to hit," said Cardenas.
